About

Julian Baughman was born in the small town of Bedford, Pennsylvania. It was here that he first fell in love with art and design. He began his college career focusing on secondary education in the hopes of becoming an art teacher and earned an Associates degree from Allegany College of Maryland.

After a short hiatus to refocus his career path, Julian enrolled at the Pennsylvania State University and focused on graphic design and digital media. Through 5 semesters at Penn State while working full time in the food service industry to pay the bills, he honed his skills by learning the basics of digital production, video editing, creative writing and the fundamentals of graphic design. He would go on to graduate with distinction and earning his Bachelors Degree.

After graduation Julian’s first job placed him at the largest newspaper in Blair County, the Altoona Mirror. He worked and excelled in the creative services department where he learned about print and editorial design in a fast paced environment and eventually was tapped to take over graphic design responsibilities for the newspapers internal marketing department.

After 2 years, Julian left the Altoona Mirror to become the in house graphic designer for Kranich’s Jewelers. Here, while working with a talented team of developers he would begin sharpening his skills in web design and expand his knowledge of how the code of his designs actually works by starting in the world of PHP and MYSQL and eventually dipping his feet into a complex, version controlled, custom built site by helping maintain the lead developer’s site after publishing. He would stay with the company for just under 5 years.

It was in the summer of 2013 that Julian would take a position as the Senior Designer at Your Building Centers Inc. Here he would work on a vast array of project ranging from automobile wraps, to detailed product catalogs, T-shirt designs and branding identities.  Ironically the only designs that he is not involved in are the website and television commercial production.

Julian has been working as an independent design consultant since 2005. With every new skill he acquires the services he provides for his clients continue to grow.
